11 / TWELVE CHECKS, TEN MINUTES
Open your current website on your phone and go down this list. This page does not send your check marks; it is a way to see your site the way a new customer does.
THE CHECKS
Each check says why it matters and what to do if it fails. Three or more unchecked is a good reason to ask for a review.
Check what is true today.
If not: Large photographs, unused scripts and heavy templates are the usual causes; a rebuild starts with sized images and no dead weight.
If not: One headline with the service and the town, before any welcome message.
If not: Pick the action that matters most and repeat it where it helps.
If not: Put them in one place that is easy to update, and check them each season.
If not: Publish starting prices or ranges, or say plainly how a quote works.
If not: Phone photos of real work beat polished pictures of someone else.
If not: Click every link and send yourself a test message once a month.
If not: Sixteen-pixel body text and short paragraphs, with real headings.
If not: Real headings, labeled form fields, text alternatives for images and a visible focus ring.
If not: Your colors, your words and your photographs, chosen deliberately.
If not: Check who the registrar and host bill; move the accounts into your name.
If not: Read every page once a year as if you were a stranger.
